The Conference

Dr B. Venkatraman has over 32 years of experience specialised in NDE, QA and Radiation Protection. He has been primarily responsible for establishing the conventional and digital X-ray and neutron radiography and thermal imaging facilities at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam and developing many NDE procedures and techniques which have been successfully implemented in the industries. He is presently Director, Health, Safety and Environment Group at IGCAR, Kalpakkam. He is a ASNT Level-III in RT, PT, VT and NRT, Honorary Fellow of ISNT and Senior Professor, HBNI. He has over 300 publications in journals/conferences and is the series editor along with Dr. Baldev Raj for the NDT handbooks on UT, ECT, RT and AET published by ISNT. He is a board member of APFNDT, Past President of 14th APCNDT, and Former Chairman of QIRT, Asia.
Dr Gongtian Shen graduated from Tsinghua University for PhD, major in mechanical engineering. He is the president of Chinese Society for nondestructive testing (ChSNDT) and the president of International Society on Acoustic Emission (ISAE). He is also the deputy director of the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI). He has engaged in research and application of inspection and nondestructive testing technology for special equipment included in boiler, pressure vessel, large atmospheric storage tank, pressure pipeline, elevator, crane, amusement ride and passenger ropeway since 1986. He has presided more than 20 Chinese national science and technology research projects or foundations.
Dr Mike Farley was the Chairman of the International Committee of NDT (2008-16). He recently retired from the post of Director of Technology Policy Liaison with Doosan Power Systems (formerly Doosan Babcock) in which role he was responsible for government relations in the areas of energy policy, R&D foresighting and technology innovation. He has held responsibilities for the company's technology led business including clean coal, structural integrity, materials, NDT, nuclear power plant inspection, offshore vibration services, large component testing and power plant feasibility studies. He is a regular speaker on the importance of NDT and the need for reliability in NDT.
Prof Krishnan Balasubramaniam has been involved in the field of Non-destructive evaluation for more than Thirty years with applications in the fields of maintenance, quality assurance, manufacturing and design. His areas of research interests include Nondestructive evaluation, in-process monitoring, structural health monitoring, and applied data analysis. He is currently a Chair Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Dean for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and also serves as the Head of the Centre for Nondestructive Evaluation which he founded in 2001.

ASNT Members Forum
A half day members interaction forum lead by ASNT. This forum would provide details about the changes in ASNT Certifications, Members engagement. NDTSS recommends all ASNT Members attending the 15th APCNDT to register for this conference, this would provide answers for all your questions. A detailed agenda will be published by 15th October 2017. Pre-registration is required for this event.
ICNDT International Forum
A half day forum is provided to show case the members regional & international events . The forum would also cover topics on certification & ICNDT engagement for global harmonization for personnel certification in Non Destructive testing. The forum will have a panel session to clarify the queries made by audiences on ISO 9712 Certification, Employer based certification. The forum will also discuss the expected revision and changes for future 9712 standard. Welcome all participants to register for this forum. A detailed agenda will be published by 15th October 2017.
NDTSS Workshop
A half day workshop is provided to all local members and potential members of NDTSS. During this workshop the new SGNDT Certification scheme will be launched and members would have chance to clarify and apply for conversion of their existing certification to International renowned SGNDT Certification. There would be a members forum , Q&A session to address the recent challenges faced by the NDT Industry in Singapore. The forum aimed to provide solutions for the future challenges. The forum would also have a special session on Accreditation for Non - Destructive Testing. A detailed agenda will be published by 15th October 2017.

Located at the centre of the Asia Pacific Region Singapore is one of the smallest countries in the world, but commands an enormous presence with its free trade economy and highly efficient workforce.

The conference and exhibition will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre adjacent to the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel and facing the Singapore River.

Hot and humid with little variation throughout the year.  Average daytime temperature is 31⁰C (88⁰F), dropping to around 24⁰C (75⁰F) in the evening.  The monsoon season can bear down pretty heavily from November onwards, so be prepared for rain on a daily basis during this period.
     
Nosmoke   No Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in all air-conditioned places, such as malls, restaurants, pubs etc.  There are designated smoking areas in some entertainment outlets and open-air eateries.

The standard electrical current used is 220-240 Volts AC (50 cycles).  Primary Socket type is Type G British BS-1363

Water can be drank straight from the tap as water here passes World Health Organization standards. Bottled water are easily available.
